A Night at Suma Seaside Park

While Kobe’s coastline offers beautiful views almost everywhere, Suma Seaside Park at night stands out as a quieter, more peaceful spot.

Compared to other beach areas, it tends to be less crowded in the evening, making it perfect for those looking to relax and enjoy the calm seaside atmosphere. There’s also a stylish cafe by the ocean, so why not stop by and unwind under the night sky?

This time, I headed to the beach from JR SumaKaihinkoen Station.
After exiting from the south gate, I walked straight south and soon reached the coastline.

The first thing you’ll see is Suma Sea World, which opened in 2024.
Since it’s closed at night, I turned right at the end of the path and continued toward the beach.

You’ll see the aquarium building with “SUMA COLLECTION” written on it.
From the side of the building, you can access the beach area, where you’ll find a “BE KOBE” monument, similar to the one at Meriken Park.

The beach side is a bit darker than I expected, but even so, there were still some visitors taking photos by the monument—clearly a popular spot for sightseeing and memories.

The coastline opens up into a wide sandy beach, and if you look to the west, you can even see the Akashi Kaikyō Bridge in the distance.

Some people were sitting and relaxing, simply taking in the peaceful seaside atmosphere.
It’s a perfect place to enjoy the open sky and the quiet beauty of the ocean.

On the land side of the beach, there are a restaurant and a cafe.
This time, I stopped by a place on the right called YURT CAFE & BBQ PARK and enjoyed a cup of coffee there.

The interior of the café is very clean and features an American-style design.
When I arrived, there were hardly any people, so I was able to relax in the spacious environment.

The view was fantastic, and with pleasant music playing in the background, the atmosphere was really cozy. I’d definitely recommend this place.

I tried their sundae and hot coffee this time.
The coffee is roasted by TAOCA COFFEE, a specialty coffee shop based in Kobe, and it had a refreshing flavor that clearly showed their dedication to quality.

I enjoyed a relaxing cup of coffee and felt very satisfied.
Afterwards, I took a leisurely walk around the park and savored the peaceful nighttime atmosphere by the coast.

Although most places close by 9 PM, there’s also a Starbucks nearby.
It’s a great spot to unwind and feel the slow passage of time while enjoying a wonderful view.
