If you’ve ever browsed the snack aisles in a Japanese supermarket, chances are you’ve come across a little box featuring smiling koalas. That’s Koala’s March — a sweet, crunchy, and totally adorable snack that’s been winning hearts since the 1980s. Lotte is a major snack company that mainly sells sweet treats, with a focus on chocolate, but this one is my absolute favorite.

When you open the package, you’re greeted by a bunch of adorable cookies — each one featuring a unique koala design that’s not only cute but also lifts your mood.

Each cookie is filled with a delicious chocolate filling, just like I remember from my childhood — the taste hasn’t changed at all.

The price has gone up since I was a child — this time it was 168 yen, which is about $1.14 at the exchange rate of 147 yen to the dollar. I also feel like there are fewer pieces in the package than I remember, but the size of each piece hasn’t changed. I really hope that the taste and quality will stay the same from now on.
